The European Drupal market is growing rapidly at the moment, and the opportunity has not been missed by some of the largest Drupal businesses - which are currently based in the US.
DrupalRadar hears that a “large North American Drupal Agency” has a representative touring the UK this week looking for the ideal place, and partners, to set up a UK office. Apart from London, the trip included a visit to Leeds, in the north of England. However the meetings they’ve arranged appear to be covered by NDAs, so details are scarce.
Word has also reached us that Acquia are in exploratory talks to open a UK office.
On top of this Addison Berry from Lullabot is moving to England for at least 3 months from September - and the trip isn’t to host their upcoming Drupal training sessions - which are being presented by Angie Byron and Randy Fay. So what have the ‘bots got planned?
If you can shed any more light on the European adventures of US Drupal firms, drop me an email in confidence at editor [at] drupalradar [dot] com, and keep watching DrupalRadar for details.
UPDATE - 1st August 2010
John Florez from the Drupal Connect agency has emailed me saying his firm also plans to send someone to the UK to explore the market there.
Inc magazine has helpfully published an article on How to Setup a London office.
